Feeding the crucial part of developing quality poultry

A crucial part of raising your poultry is feeding. Feeding is the major cost involved in the production and providing proper nutrition can be seen in the poultry’s performance and also their products.

The most appropriate to feed chickens is with a proper pelleted ration, irrespective of the fact whether the poultry is permitted to range outdoors or confined indoors. Most of the diets comprise of soybean for protein, corn for energy and mineral and vitamin supplements. Commercial rations contain arsenicals and antibiotics for promoting health and improving growth.

Hence, proper feeding is very crucial for preserving a lucrative broiler business. Broilers need more protein and energy in their food. The basic difference between broiler poultry feed and layer poultry feed is that the broiler poultry requires more nutritional ingredients as compared to layer poultry. So the broiler poultry feed should be enriched with highly nutritional constituents. The main feed grain which used in poultry feeds globally is maize. It is primarily due to starch present in its energy source, which is easily digestible for the poultry. Further, it is very palatable and does not contain anti-nutritional factors.

Feed Ingredients for Poultry should contain a suitable amount of protein for the growth of poultry. Broilers are fast growing creatures, and they need feed which is rich in protein. And adding sufficient amount of protein to the poultry feed is important and also an expensive part of the poultry feed. You could add animal as well as vegetable protein to their feed. Meat meal, fish meal, milk, liver, etc. are a great source of protein. Several types of vegetables, corn, grains etc. provide the needed protein to the poultry.

You should also make sure that there is sufficient amount of minerals and vitamins in their feed. For providing balanced food to the poultry, you need to maintain the proper ratio of the feed ingredients. Additionally, sufficient amount of fresh and clean drinking water is an important requirement for your poultry. Typically broiler birds drink more water as compared to layer poultry. Hence, while maintaining the quality of the poultry feed you should also ensure sufficient amount of drinking water for your poultry.
