What is the
use of feed if the poultry doesn't get the
required nutrients from it? What is the use of such supplements if that thing
doesn’t provide them strength?
To enhance
and get the best outputs supplements like Phytase Enzymes are used in poultry
feed. Phytases have dominated the poultry world from last 20 years, making it
more and more important for this sector.
Phytase
Enzyme contains phosphorous(P) which is an essential nutrient in poultry diets.
It adversely affects growth, reproduction,
and feed use.
Most of the
natural phosphorus in feed ingredient are unavailable to animals. To compensate the
loss plant phosphorous being excreted, undigested, inorganic phosphate has to
be added to diets.
An increase
of Phytase enzymes can have major benefits for poultry and swine producers
which are:
· Bringing down the level of inorganic phosphorus
in diets
· Decreased feed costs
· Better sustainability of animal
production
All the
requirements of birds like the immune
system, balanced diet, and energy level
are maintained by Phytase Enzyme.
Rather
than adding high levels of inorganic P to layer feeds, the safety margin currently
included in recommending dietary specifications could be provided by the
addition of phytase. This would dilute the negative effects of intensive
poultry production that are associated with P excretion.
More
often P in the poultry feeds is unavailable in birds because it is present in Phytase enzyme which should be
included in the poultry feed in good amount.
Phytase
Enzyme has been introduced to the poultry feed industry to transfer phosphorous
from phytase to the bird, thus decreasing the environmental costs of poultry
production. Nutrients affected by phytates include minerals and protein, and
phytase has been shown to affect the release of energy.
Protein and energy are most important
in the poultry feed and both these nutrients are provided through Phytase.
Many tests had been done on birds to
check whether Phytase enzyme is useful or not and this test was done in 1 week.
Measuring
feed consumption just before diet changes allowed the hens the longest possible
time to adjust to nutrient amounts so that it more accurately reflected dietary
nutrients. Mortality was recorded throughout the test.
This test was done on eggs too, and
the results were very good as the eggs after the tests were of very good quality
and were considered healthy and fit to consume.
